Welcome to John's Workshop
HI! JOHN Here with a Summer 2024 Update
Things are moving forward this summer, and we have some exciting news to report.
Bonanza Update
Shipping Costs: We have some exciting news regarding Bonanza and the shipping calculation issue we've been dealing with for years. A workaround has been found! For those interested in the details, the automatic eBay import was assigning a 'manually entered size' to our listings instead of 'large envelope', which allows shipping to be combined. As a result, shipping costs on Bonanza were not reflecting properly.
Our hat goes off to Shelly at Bonanza, who was the first to identify the issue after opening many support tickets in the past to try and resolve it. For those who may be dealing with this issue, the workaround is to assign shipping profiles with the proper weight and large envelope assignment to every listing that requires it. In our case, we label them something like 'Profile to Batch Edit Shipping Size to Large Envelope (4oz)'.
This is a game changer for our Bonanza sales as we are finally able to ship with calculated shipping for all our customers, who will only pay actual shipping costs from now on. So for those on the fence about Bonanza, come on back! They are a great eCommerce platform and the perfect alternative to other platforms where our customers may not have accounts.
Vacation Mode: We have yet to test vacation mode and are delaying this as long as possible in case it is still broken. We may have to use it in the coming months as my mom is insisting on us taking a trip somewhere, and I am biting my nails since last time we used it, we were not able to turn it off again.
New Website
Great progress is being made on the new website! All the mechanics are in place, tested, and working. All that remains is to create the remaining variable item product listings and then go through every item listing to make sure everything is correct. With over 800+ items for sale and more coming soon, this will likely take another month. I am hoping to make the site go live sometime in early August.
The new website can be found at www.johhnsworkshops.com. Right now, we just have the 'Coming Soon!' page showing. Please bookmark the site for the future, as we are planning an exciting launch sale. Once the site goes live, the 'Coming Soon' page will be replaced, and the www.johhnsworkshops.com URL will take you directly to the new site. We will also forward the www.johnsworkshop.biz URL to the new site as soon as things are ready.
Media Updates
At long last, we are going to be updating our product images and adding video to our new YouTube channel, as well as our product listings on eBay, Bonanza, and the new John's Workshop LLC website. This will be a major undertaking and will likely take at least a year to complete, but I think you will like the changes. Since starting John's Workshop when I was ten years old, not only have I gotten older, but the eCommerce realm has also changed a lot, and it is time for my business to catch up as well. I have been wanting to get things updated since starting high school, and now that I am entering my senior year, I will finally have the opportunity to make it happen.
Sander Plates
We continue to expand our range of replacement sander plates and sanding sheets for various popular 1/4 sheet sanders. We are unique in offering sander plates with Foam, Hook & Loop, and Felt pads, providing the most options for replacing the factory original plates and pads.
Originally scheduled for late 2023, we are still working hard to complete our premier product release, now anticipated for December 2024. We are excited to launch this new, one-of-a-kind product, which has been over two years in the making, and we think you are going to love it. To roll out the new product sooner, we will start with a small number of the new product and roll out the remaining ones as quickly as possible.
Look for another update as soon as the new site goes live! Once the new website is launched, this outdated format will be retired, and a new-generation website with full shopping cart functionality will take its place. Until then, I hope everyone has a great summer and stays safe from all the heat!
Best Regards,
John

We continue to expand our range of replacement sander plates and sanding sheets for various popular 1/4 sheet sanders. We are unique in offering sander plates with Foam, Hook & Loop, and Felt pads, providing the most options for replacing the factory original plates and pads.
- Foam Pads: The industry standard for many years, offering the lowest cost option for replacing the factory pad.
- Hook & Loop Pads: Provide superior sanding sheet retention for sheets designed for Velcro-type retention. Upgrading to a Hook & Loop pad can almost completely prevent sandpaper slippage.
- Felt Pads: Offer the greatest longevity in pad life, ideal for those who find foam and Hook & Loop pads don't hold up under continuous use.

Putting our Mission Statement into Practice
"Creating Solutions for Everyday Needs"
The idea behind our first product is that too many cans of expanding foam are thrown away before they are empty.
This results in our landfill space being used up unnecessarily and consumers needlessly spending additional
money as they have to go and purchase more cans.
Our solution is to provide replacement straws that allow cans of of expanding foam to be completely used.
In addition, we also provide cleaning kits that allow straws to be cleaned and used more than once.
The result is that consumers now have the ability to get the full use out of their cans of expanding foam,
saving them money and helping our environment by reducing the amount of trash entering our landfills.
